Wow! What a nail-biter we had for the Classic, and it ALL came down to the Classic! After leading in the points race most of the year, Osmera & Hayes came into the 2009 Tightlines N2IT Fishing Fall Hibernation Classic presented by Smithville Marine with a BIG target on their backs. With what many though would be a pretty insurmountable lead turned into a need to finish in 3rd or better to take home the Smithville Marine N2IT Cup. The 2008 Smithville Marine N2IT Cup Champions, Weberg & Holly, made a hard charge at the end, but came up just short in their bid to repeat as champs. Team B.O.H.I.C.A Billings & Whitworth made a jump to 3rd overall with their 2nd palce finish in the class and pushed the 2007 Smithville Marine N2IT Cup Champions, the Bass fishing Mafia Caldwell & Raney down to 4th overall. Rounding out the top 5 were Blecha & Ewing with their strong 4th place finish in the Classic.

Congratulations again to Doug and Pat for their fantastic year. They were true sports thoughout the year and models for sportsmanship. Job well done guys! For their hard work, this year's Smithville Marine N2IT Cup included $346 from the anglers of the year pot, and $250 cash & $250 gift certificate from Smithville Marine.

Teams will earn points on a weighted points system that rewards anglers on place with bonus points awarded for 1st & 2nd Big Bass. NO POINTS WILL BE GIVEN TO ANY TEAMS THAT BLANK OR DO NOT WEIGH IN FISH. A teams' BEST 4 tourney scores will count toward placement in the 2009 N2IT Fall Hibernation Classic©. **Automatic entries into the N2IT Fall Hibernation Classic© will go to 40% of field (highest 4-tourney season point totals), individual tourney team champions (MUST FISH A MINIMUM OF 4 TOURNEYS), and the 1st 20 teams whose season's tourney fees are paid-in-full (minimum 4 tourneys) prior to the Summer Break Turn on June 22.

**Teams that do not qualify for the 2009 Tightlines N2IT Fishing Bass Series Fall Hibernation Classic are encouraged and eligible to fish in the Fall Hibernation Classic, but are not eligible to be the 2009 Smithville Marine N2IT Cup Champions Anglers of the Year. Regular entries fees ($120) will apply for all teams that do not qualify.**
