2010 Tightlines N2IT Fishing Summer Break Turn presented by Smithville Marine

June 27th, Mozingo Lake, Maryville, MO

The Tightlines Summer Break Turn presented by Smithville Marine saw changing weather conditions, as mild storms blew through the area early in the day giving up clearing skies in the afternoon. No matter the conditions, the fishing was hotter that the 80 degree water temps, with 14 of the 20 boats bringing in limits. Team B.O.H.I.C.A. Billings & Whitworth put the smack down on the competition coming in with 4 lbs more than the 2nd place finishers. Their 21.69 lbs sack earned them the Smithville Marine 1st place check of $803, the Razr Rods Bounty of $70 + 2 $40 Gift Certificas for successfully hunting down this tourney's bounty, Holly & Weberg, and 4 bonus points for the Bullet Bobber 2nd Big Bass prize. Allen & Shinneman captured the Tightline Lures 2nd place check of $433 with their 17.66 lbs sack. The 2007 Smithville Marine N2IT Cup Champions got back into for with their 3rd plasce showing bringing in 17.14 lbs for the FlaMinn Lures 3rd place check of $251. Team N2IT Cochran & Cochran turned in another solid performance grabbing the Fishing Video Network $104 4th place check with their 16.30 lbs limit. The team of Wolf & Guzman took home the Lil Bits Country Store & Bait Shop $25 gift certificate went with their 16.15 lbs. Brewer & Sprague bagged the Tightlines $316 Big Bass of the tourney weighing 5.95 lbs and worth 7 bonus points giving them 16.03 lbs and the Rejuvenade $20 Gas Pot. Special thanks again to the Northwest Missouri State University Bass Club for assisting with the tourney.

2010 Tightlines N2IT Fishing Hawg Hunters Challenge presented by Smithville Marine

June 6th, Mozingo Lake, Maryville, MO

The Tightlines Hawg Hunters Challenge presented by Smithville Marine started off with calm conditions that turned gusty as the day progressed. It was another beautiful day for fishing and many teams reported catching a fair number of fish, but just not of the right size as water temps held in the mid 70's. 18 of the 25 boats in the tourney brought in a limit wit new boats blanking, which shows that the fishing remains strong on Mozingo. The newcomer team of Henzlik & Stetich brought in a huge sack to out distance 2nd by almost 5 lbs! Their 5 pigs won them the Smithville Marine 1st place check of $992. For their efforts, Henzlik & Stetich also took home the Razr Rods Bounty of $130 + 2 $40 Gift Certificas for successfully hunting down last tournament's winners, Holly & Weberg, and 4 bonus points for the Bullet Bobber 2nd Big Bass prize. Speaking of whom, the 2008 Smithville Marine N2IT Cup Champions, Holly & Weberg remained solid with their 17.78 lbs bag, which was good enough to pick up the Tightline Lures 2nd place check of $534. Another set of newcomers found themselves in the money Sunday. Caughron & Cannia took home the FlaMinn Lures 3rd place check for $309 with their 17.11 lbs limit. I guess Sunday was a day for newcomers to step up to the competition on Mozingo, as Siepker & Gustufson brought in 16.90 lbs to collect the Fishing Video Network $131 4th place check. The team of Cooper & Riley bagged the Tightlines $370 Big Bass of the tourney weighing 7.02 lbs and worth 7 bonus points giving them 16.18 lbs and the Rejuvenade $25 Gas Pot. The Lil Bits Country Store & Bait Shop $25 gift certificate went to Blackford & Thompson, with their 15.01 lbs. Special thanks to the Northwest Missouri State University Bass Club for running our tourney in the absence of our tourney director, Tim Jackson. Tim, our thoughts and prayers are with Wendy and the family.

2010 Tightlines N2IT Fishing "Pre-Season's Over!" presented by Smithville Marine

April 18th, Mozingo Lake, Maryville, MO

The Tightlines "Pre-Season's Over!" presented by Smithville Marine got underway under cool, calm conditions. It was definitely a beautiful day for fishing. The fishing was consistent, as several anglers talked about catching a lot of short fish with water temps in the low to mid 50's. 11 of the 27 boats in the tourney brought in a limit, which shows that the fishing is starting to heat up on Mozingo. Once again, the 2008 Smithville Marine N2IT Cup Champions, Holly & Weberg, brought in the winning stringer day. Their 22.30 lbs. out distanced the rest of the field by 6 lbs., earning them a big pay day with the Smithville Marine 1st place check of $1067. Plus, they claimed the new Razr Rod Bounty for an additional $140, 2 $40 Razr Rods gift certificates, and the Bullet Bobber 2nd Big Bass Prize + 4 bonus points. Team N2IT Cochran & Cochran led the rest of the pack bringing in 5 fish weighing 16.73 lbs for the Tightlines 2nd place check of $574. Newcomers Willits & Rissler bagged the Tightlines $392 Big Bass of the tourney weighing 7.27 lbs worth 7 bonus points that vaulted them to the FlaMinn Lures 3rd place check for $289, and instantly into the Smithville Marine N2IT Cup race. Another new team got into the action and money with a 16.24 lbs sack Ingram & Jackson grabbing the Fishing Video Network $141 4th place check. Taking home the Rejuvenade $27 Gas Pot was the 2009 Smithville Marine N2IT Cup Champions Osmera & Hayes with 16.02 lbs. The Lil Bits Country Store & Bait Shop $25 gift certificate went to yet another new team, Wolf & Guzman, with 15.65 lbs.

2010 Tightlines N2IT Fishing "Let's Get It On!" Open presented by Smithville Marine

March 28th, Mozingo Lake, Maryville, MO

The Tightlines "Let's Get It On!" Open presented by Smithville Marine got underway under cold, windy, overcast conditions as a cold front had pushed through the area the previous couple days. The fishing was just about as cold as the 39-42 degree water temps. Only 8 of the 18 boats in the tourney brought in fish, which is a rarity on Mozingo. The clouds gave way to partly sunny skies in the afternoon, where a couple teams said the fish started turning on a little. The 2008 Smithville Marine N2IT Cup Champions, Holly & Weberg, brought in the only limit of the day catching most of their keepers in the last hour of the tourney. Their 12.48 lbs. may be the smallest winnring stringer in N2IT history, but it was good enough for the Smithville Marine 1st place check of $721. Plus, they claimed the new Razr Rod Bounty for an additional $50 and 2 $40 gift certificates. Murphy & Lamar found 4 fish willing to bite that was good for 10.47 lbs and the Tightlines 2nd place check of $453. Team N2IT Cochran & Cochran grabbed 4 bonus points for the 2nd Big Bass of 3.5 lbs, which helped them capture the FlaMinn Lures 3rd place check for $289. Newcomers Goluboski & Gobuloski only caught one fish...but it was an important fish. They caught the Tightlines $294 Big Bass of the tourney weighing 4.82 lbs worth 7 bonus points. They finished in 4th place collecting the Lil Bits Country Store & Bait Shop $25 gift certificate. Taking home the Rejuvenade $18 Gas Pot was Blanton & Peters with 3.98 lbs.
